Rev. E. Brian Colbourne

Rev. Colbourne graduated from Memorial University in 1986 with a conjoint degree in Arts and Education. He then attended the Atlantic School of Theology and graduated with a Masters of Divinity Degree in April 1990. He was ordained on May 27, 1990 and since that time has served the St. Anthony Pastoral Charge, St. George’s Pastoral Charge, and the Twillingate Pastoral Charge.

On June 23, 1990 he married Gail Penney, and over the next few years they were blessed with three beautiful children: Bethany, Joshua and Michaela.

Tragedy hit their family on February 24, 2003 with the sudden death of their son Joshua. His death has had a major impact on the family and on Brian’s ministry. However, that experience has deepened his sense of ministry, especially in dealing with family crises and grief management.

Brian and his family look forward to their new life in Carbonear, getting to know the people and sharing in the ministry of Bethany United Church.
