An important part of our life and work at Bethany United Church is our ministry of Pastoral Care and Outreach. Rev. Stephen visits the hospital on a regular basis, usually on Wednesday afternoons, and any other times when requested, but certainly in the case of urgent need. Another priority is regular visitation of sick and shut-in persons of the congregation. The visitation of all homes is a pastoral care objective that will in time be shared by minister and laity. Persons in the congregation needing Pastoral Care in time of bereavement, sickness, family breakdown, personal problems, career decisions, spiritual crisis, emotional turmoil, etc. are invited to contact the minister, and concerns will be dealt with in the strictest confidence. Lay people in the congregation are also involved in visitation and outreach to sick and shut-in persons in private homes and nursing homes in the area.
